Temporary Worship Space Update

We have been ordered to stop all Church related activities by the City of Castle Hills at our temporary location which was located at 5703 Blanco Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78216. We were given a verbal order the week of September 22, 2024  by the City of Castle Hills and then a written order on September 24, 2024. The City of Castle Hills cited zoning and code enforcement as the reason.

This has caused significant disruption and disturbance to our parish operations. As of right now we will still be meeting at Milano on Wurzbach (11802 Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78230) for Sunday morning worship. Liturgy will be held at 9:30am. They are located in the Elm Shopping Center.

We will serve weekday services (Wednesday morning Divine Liturgy & Feast Days) along with out Catechism Class on Wednesday nights at 5600 Vance Jackson Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78230. We have set up a class room and chapel in the house at 5600 Vance Jackson Rd. We will also serve Great Vespers on Saturday night at 4:00pm at Vance Jackson.

We are still in the process of trying to find a more permanent temporary location for Sunday morning worship and are waiting to hear back from a few places. We will be serving Liturgy on Sunday morning at temporary locations until our new Church building project is completed.

Sometimes it can feel like we are Moses in the wilderness leading the Israelites to the promised land. However, we should avoid any temptations we have towards frustration and the lack of patience. The experience of a wilderness, whether it be an actual wilderness or a figurative one, can be a spiritually beneficial opportunity. Something which is not only attested to in the Bible but also in the life of our Church. We could think about the writings of the Desert Fathers, especially that of our Patron Saint Ephraim the Syrian. We encourage all of you to read Exodus 15.22-18.27.
