Join us this Sunday, March 9, 2025, as we celebrate the Sunday of Orthodoxy. This Sunday, the first Sunday of Great Lent, is called the Sunday of Orthodoxy because it commemorates the restoration of the Holy Icons and the triumph of the Orthodox Faith against the terrible heresy of the Iconoclasts, i.e. those who refused to honor the Holy Icons and even called for their destruction (Iconoclast meaning destroyer of images). Icons of course are Christian sacred art which depicts saints and especially Biblical narratives.
